Frederick Luis Aldama is Arts and Humanities Distinguished Professor of English at Ohio State University where he was the 2017 winner of the Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. Mr. Aldama is also Director of the Latino Studies Program and has been awarded the White House Bright Spots in Hispanic Education award for his work as Founder and Director of LASER - the Latino & Latin American Space for Enrichment and Research.
Mr. Aldama received his undergraduate degree summa cum laude in English from the University of California, and obtained his Ph.D. from Stanford University.
Mr. Aldama uses the tools of narrative theory and cognitive science in his teaching and scholarship on Latino and Postcolonial literature, art, music, film, and comic books. He is the author and editor of fourteen books.
