Lavinia Spalding, TEDx Talk on Travel Stories and Global Understanding and Change

Award-winning food and travel writer  Lavinia Spalding  will be coming to Stanford this summer to speak to campers about travel writing, inspiration, and the importance of keeping a journal to connect with the physical world in an increasing technological age. A writer, editor, teacher, and public speaker, Lavinia is also the series editor of   The Best Women’s Travel Writing  and author of two books:   Writing Away: A Creative Guide to Awakening the Journal-Writing Traveler,   and   With a Measure of Grace, the Story and Recipes of a Small Town Restaurant.    Last month, Restless Books reissued an e-book edition of Edith Wharton’s classic travelogue,   A Motor-Flight Through France for which Lavinia wrote the introduction.
