The Lewis-Sebring Scholarship
The Lewis-Sebring Scholarship is presented by The Open Books Foundation and Great Books Summer Program. This scholarship fully supports two students for one-week sessions at either our Amherst Program or Northwestern Program. The recipient of this scholarship is selected based on criteria established by the Lewis-Sebring Family Foundation and the Open Books Foundation. The Lewis-Sebring Foundation provides educational scholarships to deserving students from communities of color and low-income backgrounds to attend the Great Books Summer Program.
Students applying for the Lewis-Sebring Scholarship must submit a minimum 400-word essay in response to one of the following prompts:
- Describe a challenging experience and how you overcame it.
- Describe a time when you demonstrated leadership in your community.
Applicants who do not receive the Lewis-Sebring Scholarship will automatically be considered for General Financial Aid.
