Newsletters

If a user wishes to subscribe to one of our e-bulletins, we will ask for contact information, such as name and email address. Users who wish to opt-out of our e-bulletins will be taken off of our lists immediately (within 24 hours).

Send to a Friend

If a user elects to use our referral service to inform a friend about a part of our website, a form asks for the friend's name and email address. The form will automatically send the information to the friend via email. We do not store this information and the form is only used to send this one-time referral email. Web addresses embedded in the send to a friend email may contain specially encoded web addresses that provide non-identifiable usage data to www.greatbookssummer.com.

Users who no longer wish to receive our e-bulletins or other marketing and promotional materials from us or our partners may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to any such promotional email indicating their desire to no longer receive such emails or by emailing info@greatbookssummer.com.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act

COPPA requires us to inform parents and legal guardians about our practices for collecting, using, and disclosing personal information from children under the age of 13. It also requires us to obtain verifiable consent from a child's parent for certain collection, use, and disclosure of the child's personal information.

In the event that a student self-identifies as the primary requestor and they are under the age of 13, Great Books will utilize the “email plus” method of parental consent. If parents do not complete the verification, the student information is deleted. The student will not be contacted while the verification is in process. The “email plus” method, we will send an email to the parent and ask that you respond your consent. Then we will send a confirmation to the parent via email. You may revoke parent consent anytime by contacting us at info@greatbookssummer.com.

Children can access many parts of the website and its content and use many of its features without providing us with personal information. However, some content and features require us to collect certain information, including personal information, from them. In addition, we use certain technologies, such as cookies, to automatically collect information from our users (including children) when they visit or use the website.

We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.

Notification of Changes in Use of Information

Our privacy policy is subject to change. In the event of any change, we will provide notice on our website. If we want to use your personal information in a manner different from that stated to you at the time you provided such information to us, we will notify you of such change via email and post a notification on our website.
